Brother Terry Reigle would like to extend his sincere appreciation to nearly twenty volunteers that helped to wire a four unit residential building in the Gresham area on Saturday, October 3rd in Gresham at 677 SE 197th Ave. Also an enormous thanks goes out to Red's Electric for contributing one of their service vans weighted down with tools for the project and too for the folks at Habitat for providing a much appreciated barbecue lunch for all the volunteers. Local 48 genuinely thanks all of the volunteering members for making this undertaking happen and taking time out of their individual schedules on a beautiful Saturday to support their Local Union and their community. These electricians epitomize one facet of what the IBEW is about; occasionally forgoing leisure time to help elevate the standard of living in the community. These are the ideals that people may become conscious of when they think of labor unions and their signatory contractors -- a community that sees when there is something to be done, or someone that needs assistance, our members can be the first people to step up and make things happen. And besides "it just plain feels good".
