No matter what Harrison Active Plan you are on, the Trust Self-Funded Plan, Providence Open Option, or Kaiser Permanente, you may be eligible for a comprehensive wellness exam, offered by the Oregon Wellness Clinic in Portland.

The co-pay for the exam is $50. However, if you have never had the exam before and you are over age 40, Oregon Wellness will pay for the entire $50 co-pay. If you are under 40, or have had an exam before, the Oregon Wellness Clinic picks up half the cost of the co-pay, which means you pay just $25.

Last year, nearly 600 Harrison members took advantage of the exam that includes: comprehensive blood work, a medical history and review, a physical exam, and a fitness assessment.

Nearly 40 percent of the members who took the exam last year ended up being referred for follow-up care for such things as diabetes, hypertension, heart blockages, colon cancer, breast cancer, and skin cancer.

The typical appointment lasts between two and three hours.
