John J. Maloney

John Maloney died June 25, 2015, at the age of 66 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Brittany; son, Kevin; mother, Loretta; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Lynne; and granddaughters, Sabine, Rory and Lucy. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur; and sister, Laurie.

John was born Jan. 2, 1949, in Portland. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1971 with a degree in business administration. In 1972, he married Joanne Harding of Seattle. John worked for Tice Electric , first as an electrician and later as owner and president. He served as president of the National Electrical Contractors Association, was a member of Portland Executives Group and belonged to Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. In retirement, he enjoyed ham radio, traveling, woodworking and trips to Sunriver.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Our Lady of the Lake Church, with a reception to follow. Father John Kerns will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate John's life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
