Kenneth L. Hayward

Kenneth L Hayward passed away on March 7, 2015 at the age of 76, in Portland, Oregon. He was born on July 31, 1938 in Portland to parents Jack Hayward and Juanita Conner. He graduated from Franklin High School and lived his entire life in Portland.

On May 21, 1958, Kenneth married Colleen Hayward, and together they raised 3 children. They were married for 57 years. Kenneth worked as a Journeyman electrician throughout his career. He was also a member of the IBEW Local 48 for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, riding dune buggies, and gardening.  Kenneth never met a stranger; anyone he knew was comfortable talking to him and trusting him in short order.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother Frank Conner. He is survived and deeply missed by his wife, Colleen Hayward, of Brush Prairie, WA; children Randy Hayward, Portland, OR, Deneen Hayward, Brush Prairie, WA, and Dayna Hayward, Portland, OR; granddaughter Victoria Hayward, and siblings Delores Backus, Gary Hayward, and Julie Greenley.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 14, 2015 at 10am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Portland, OR. Special thanks for the kind care given by Providence Elderplace, Dr. Jefferey Tyler, and most of all to Ligia Magda. Memorial donations may be made to the Kenneth L. Hayward Memorial Fund at alz.org; funds will go towards alzheimer's research.
