Diana Winther
- General Counsel
Diana has been General Counsel for IBEW Local 48 since May 2015. Prior to that, she worked as the Hall’s Legal Assistant.
As a soon-to-be law school graduate interested in Labor Law, Diana was originally introduced to the IBEW Local 48 by former General Counsel Norman Malbin, to whom she says she is eternally grateful for the chance to get involved and eventually take on the General Counsel role. Though not an electrician, Diana says she is proud to be a yellow ticket carrying member because she believes as a member she can better support and protect the Local.
Diana enjoys the many opportunities offered at Local 48 to get involved - whether directly with membership at the Annual Picnic, or as a delegate to the Southwest Washington Central Labor Council.
“Our Local is a community. It feels good to be part of something greater than yourself.”
Today, Diana is proud to be Co-Chair of the Management-labor Advisory Committee for Workers’ Compensation in Oregon, where she gets to work on legislation with wide-reaching benefits for workers.
Outside of her time at IBEW, Diana enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, sitting around the campfire with family and friends, and reading poetry.
