John Cossu
John joined Local 48 in November 1956. He retired in January 1988.
John Cossu
John Cossu was born in Sardinia, Italy on March 27th, 1922 to Lucille and Salvatore Cossu. He passed away at age 94 on May 19th, 2016 in Gresham, Oregon.
John was a an electrician by trade and a 60 year member of IBEW Local 48. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, working in his garden, traveling, and following various sports teams. He had a wonderful sense of humor, combining wit and irony. He was known for his generosity, helpfulness, and kindness.
He is survived by his caring wife of 57 years JoAnn Cossu; son Claude G. Cossu, son John W. Cossu, his wife Cindy and daughter Olivia, son Anthony S. Cossu, his wife Lilia, and daughter Lillian, along with out of state grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John also known as "Pop" was described as "one of a kind" and will be missed by family and friends that loved him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church. Address: 2310 SE 148th Ave, Portland, OR 97236.
