IBEW Local 48 business representatives Bob Caroll and Mike Bridges were guests on the "Working to Live in SW Washington" podcast's third episode on September 12, 2020. Mike and Bob shared details about IBEW electrician apprenticeships, living wages in the trades, and the rewards of union membership. The episode covers concerns of those who are leary of taking on a lot of debt with college and options that exist for starting a career in the trades.
For those that don't know, Bob and Mike are both involved in leadership within other organizations as well as IBEW Local 48. In addition to being a Business Representative with IBEW 48, Bob is also the president of the Columbia Pacific Building and Construction Trades Council. Mike serves with the Longview Kelso Building Trades Council and is the Executive Secretary of the Washington State Building and Construction Trades Council.
