Michelle Murphy
- Dispatcher
Michelle's first dispatch was December 14, 1992 – 32 short years ago. She started in this role July 2022, prior to that she worked in the field as a JW.
Michelle enjoys the feeling of accomplishment that comes with working in the field. And she likes to build stuff! The pay and benefits have enabled her to raise a family and still have a life in retirement.
Michelle's favorite part of being an IBEW member is the ability to stay involved, whether it be: ReNew, EWMC, Union Meetings, Women’s Conference, the Summer Picnic – there is something for everyone and all are welcome.
Michelle is proud when she is driving through Portland and can point out the places she has worked to her children: the Rose Garden, AT&T, PSU, Intel, PCC, Nike World Campus, Good Sam Hospital, Legacy, etc.
Michelle's hobbies outside of the IBEW include traveling, golfing, walking on the beach, crabbing, hiking, concert going, spending time with the Grandkids. She also volunteers as a facilitator for the DV and Pattern Changing Classes at the YWCA.
Michelle's Guinness Book of World Records Entry: the record for the largest bone pile.
